Unlike in France or Spain, only two new tram systems have opened in the British Isles in recent years, namely in Dublin and Edinburgh. The networks in Manchester and Nottingham, however, have been expanded significantly. This book gives an overview of not just the trams, but of all the current urban rail systems, also covering the London Underground, the Docklands Light Railway, the Tyne-and-Wear Metro, as well as the Glasgow Subway.
