THE LAST TRAFFIC MANAGER, the life and railway career of Geoff Callingham
Geoff joined the New South Wales Railways in 1949 as a Junior Porter. His career took him all over NSW and he had a central role in many of the significant milestones of the state-run railways in the last four decades of their existence. His story describes the operation of the Traffic Branch when the railway was at its zenith, and discusses the circumstances that contributed to its decline. Geoff retells the trials and tribulations of living and working in various locations throughout New South Wales including Muswellbrook, Goulburn, Cowra, Junee and Darling Harbour.
