Description
With new photographs and updated text, this new edition covers the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney from Darling Point to Coogee and including Darling Point, Double Bay, Woollahra, Rose Bay, Vaucluse, Nielsen Park, Bondi, Bondi Junction, Waverley, Charing Cross, Clovelly, Coogee, Clark island, Edgecliff, Bellevue Hill, Point Piper and Watsons Bay.
The Eastern Suburbs grew from bush tracks out over the sand dunes to the pretty picnic spots on the bays and beaches. The spectacular views attracted the wealthy classes of Sydney Town and many of the city’s forefathers built grand mansions with harbour views. The beaches attracted different architecture and a different class of people, leading to the explosion of red tiled roofs from Bondi to Coogee.
