Description
This DVD takes you along the Werris Creek Line, highlighting freight and passenger rail operations between Muswellbrook and Werris Creek South (Signal) Box from 1993 to 2004.
Originally built between 1870 and 1878, this section grew into a vital railway hub as the network expanded to Wallangarra, Mungindi, and Walgett. Large marshalling yards and workshops in Werris Creek facilitated the transport of grain, coal, and general freight, along with train repairs.
Despite challenges from road competition and the shift to diesel-electric locomotives, Werris Creek remains a key railway center.
In this presentation, you’ll observe operations from various operators, including ARG, Countrylink, Freight Australia, and Pacific National, along with a range of locomotives such as CLP/F, G, GM, X, and 48. Enjoy the journey!
