This video showcases the era through a collection of Pennsylvania Railroad publicity films, including “Progress on Rails,” “Wheels of Steel,” “Opening a New Frontier,” and “Clear Track Ahead.”

The Standard Railroad

This video biography showcases the iconic Pennsy with steam, diesel, and electric power, including K-4s, GG-1s, T1 Duplex 4-4-4-4s, E-units, and doodlebugs. Highlights include Penn and Washington Union Stations, the Broadway and Congressional Limiteds, the Northeast Corridor (including the Long Island Railroad), and commuters. It also features historic sites like the 1830s inclined planes, Horseshoe Curve, Rockville Bridge, Enola Yards, the wreck of the Federal Express, and the birth of the Metroliners.
