Description
Perth is the gateway to the Highlands of Scotland. The large imposing station – the legacy of Victorian railway competition – was the southern terminus of the Highland Railway Company.
A jounrye over the main line today is still a grand experience, a mixture of ancient and modern. But first and foremost there is the magnificent scenery and what better way to enjoy it than from a brand new ScotRail Turbostar running on a limited stop service all the way to the Highland capital. The magnificent backdrops are also seen from the trackside and even from the air.
The line features block semaphore signalling, stretches of double and single tracks and the highest summit on British railways at Druimuachdar.
