Rails to Rubicon: A History of the Rubicon Forest
By Peter Evans

Hardcover | 200 pages | A4 size
Includes 240 photographs and maps, plus bibliography, references, and index

Originally published in 1994 and out of print for 15 years, Rails to Rubicon is now available again in a new second edition.

This detailed history explores the timber and hydro-electric tramways of Victoria’s Rubicon Forest. It covers a range of gauges—2 ft, 3 ft, and 3 ft 4½ in—as well as the 2 ft gauge tramway that linked the forest to the Alexandra railway station.

While the text remains mostly unchanged, the second edition features greatly improved photo reproduction, higher quality paper, and upgraded colour maps with waterways highlighted in blue. Rolling stock diagrams are now in colour, and a few black-and-white images have been replaced or supplemented with colour photos.

A beautifully updated edition of an important work on Victoria’s tramway and forestry history.
