The Cambrian Coast – Machynlleth to Barmouth offers a Driver’s Eye View of the tranquil Cambrian Coast line. Filmed in 1988, when the line was still signalled by semaphores and electric tokens, it captures the serene beauty of the route.

Highlights include:

• An unscheduled stop at Dovey Junction to pick up passengers at a remote station with no road access.
• The challenging section along the Friog cliffs, known for its narrow ledges and past disasters.
• The impressive half-mile timber trestle bridge at Barmouth, spanning the Mawddach estuary.

The journey also features glimpses of the Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Railway at Tywyn and the Fairbourne and Barmouth Steam Railway.
