While not known for scenery, Coon Creek Junction in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, offers an awesome display of railroading.

Coon Creek is a point where the BNSF’s Staples Sub (Transcontinental mainline), and the Hinckley Sub come together. The Hinckley Sub is also a jointline with Canadian National, Canadian Pacific (Soo Line) and Union Pacific trains, traversing the line to Superior, Wisconsin.

Many types of trains with a wide variety of motive power are seen here in one of the Twin Cities busiest railroading spots.
